While serving in the U.S, Navy I had the opportunity to visit Japan in December of 1970.During this visit I took the opportunity to purchase several items from the local Base Exchange. One of the items was this Aikosha wall Clock. Now keep in mind, I was 19 years old and knew nothing about clock except that they somehow were able to keep time. I purchased this clock to give to my parents. They were thrilled to have a souvenir from my travels to a far away country.

Since then the clock fell into disrepair and would no loner run. We knew so little about clocks that it hadn’t even occurred to us that a clock need to have a little oil once in a while. Hence the clock fell out of favor and I became the custodian of the piece.

As luck would have it, I developed an interest in clocks many years later. I used this new interest to bring new life into the clock and it now runs very well at my home.

I know very little about this clock except that it is a 30-day movement and was made in Korea. Soon after I got my clock running well, I came across a gentleman that had the exact same clock and he wanted to see it running again. And now it is.
